Nike SB

I've noticed that Nike SB is huge among non skaters in minnesota, it is the rich kid hip hopper brand here. In Wayzata, it is as common to see a kid decked out with SB apparel and brand new clean p rod sb's, as to see to see a kid decked out with polo ralph lauren. When did this happen, Nike SB usually doesnt end up in this kids hands. It used to be that if i saw someone with SB gear in Wayzata, I knew who they were and I knew that they skated. Even today, I went to the overpass and the first thing I encounter is a kid talking shit about me skateboarding. He meant well but he was a douche. I argued with him about rollerbladers and how they wax everything and he was reluctant to admit that waxing was bad for coping even his roller blading friends didn't support him on this one. Anyway, I fucked my ankle and sat down and noticed a fresh pair of Nike Vulcanized SB's. I asked the group who's shoes they were and he said. "Oh they are mine." I was quick to judge and asked him why he would wear a skate shoe if he hated skateboarders and skateboarding in general why would you ever wear shoes from a skate company. He defended himself quickly by saying "Do you know who Davis Torgerson IS?" I said yeah, did he give you those? He responded "No way I had him buy me them from the rep." I asked "Did you get a deal?" He said he didnt and paid full price. I could see if he got them for free but no such luck. This was almost 5 minutes after he disscussed his hatred for skateboarding. That would be if legend ran for mayor of Bozeman. Its backwards. It just didnt make sense.
Why is nike so popular among non skaters? Why are surburban kids rocking SB and not Four-Star or Matix? It has something to do that rich white kids think wearing expensive nike gear will make them look more street credible. They are also trying their best to look like kayne. I cant blame them for that. I am just waiting for the time when kids wear flannels and cut off shits rocking Camo Drehobls and cut off jeans. If only Kayne would dress more like my skate heros. Its only a dream, I might like him more if he dressed like Baca.
What I find odd is half of Nike's team consists of dirtballs. Some of my favorite skaters ride for Nike. Childress, Partenen, Omar Salazar, Zed, those guys top the list of dirtbags, but yet they ride for Nike. In addition i never have seen any of those guys rocking the neon and crazy retro style of Nike. They wear flannels and dress more homeless than like skaters. No one even on nike wears that gear. Skaters dont wear that shit yet it makes me cringe that it is SB instead of Abrocrombie or polo. At least they are supporting the local shop.

Besides that I fucked my ankle today warming up. I heard it pop as I attempted to bail but my new deck with newer shoes did not combine well with my ankle. I was doing a stupid trick on a stupid 9 foot quarter and fucked my self over. Im pretty sure its just a sprain and ill be back in a few days but for now ill have to limp around the office and use that for my excuse for not winning in nerf ball. By the way, Overpass=Not even worth it. Total bike/rollerblade park. Fun mini and cool location but no flow.

Local Hipster

I didnt know gravette was going to be there.  Im glad it was fun.  Sammy holding it down fo sho.  I bought a membership to 3rd lair and snaked a bunch of the extremely good little kids (they were little when I was in high school)  But I hurt my self by trying gravette tricks.  3rd is still the shit though.  I was in Minneapolis tonight and I spilled on my white shirt and then got embarassed so me and sammy f went down to the cherry on a spoon and looked at the skyline.  It was sweet I then drove around mlps and realized the proximity of epic spots.  They are so close and so many spots.  Most of them are busts but some of them still skated.  I was dissapointed to see the red roller thing was made unskateable.  They put rails in front blocking it but whatever im sure the pros will be creative.  3rd will skated by me by myself alot this summer.

Indy Demo

Went to the indy demo today. sick shit all around. saw a bunch of pros. Gravette killed it, saw dirtbags including chet childress and sammy baca (alex's hero). Omar Hassan was there, as was TNT, who was drunk and not skating. Rick Howard was cool to see as well. I handed him is skateboard. I said "You dropped your board Rick" he grabbed his board and said thanks. Emanual Guzman killed it, as well as a younger kid named Peabody. Little went down on the street course, besides Rick Howards noseblunt on the big bank over the jetty marble ledge. That was awesome. I saw the thrasher filmer P-Stone, and I asked him what the new beer themed skate video was going to be called, and he said I would just have to wait. I also saw thrasher photog Rhino. Gnarly old guys. The best session went down in the pool, with Peabody, childress, and Al Partenan ripping the hardest. There was also some guy whose name I didnt know who killed it. I skated the street course for awhile, which was hard due to the amount of people. All in all it was an awesome day, saw lots of friends, pros, and amazing skateboarding.

Hot Rod

Damn Skateboarding was sick today.  I forgot how fun third lair was to skate at.  The outdoor bowl is so much fun.  I found some new lines and landed some new tricks.   The indoor course is really fun still.  They changed a few things and the lines are really fast still.  It was so fucking hot that park is like an oven.  That park sucks when all the little rats are there.  I ran into so many  I tried to give the shoulder to an extremely fat kid taller than me and I just got decked.  I swear every single kid who goes there doesn't have peripheral vision.  But overall go skate day was really fun.  I got a new deck a creature shall install it real soon.  Tomorrow the plan is to pillage Minneapolis' skate spots.

Minneapolis

Minneapolis is the shit.  I forget that sometimes.  Rode a bunch down there tonight.  I really want to bring my skateboard next time and skate the most spots I can by biking to them.  I found some spots there were hittable as well.  Well I am stoked to skate tomorrow for free and I only went once this week.  Kream Up Kreamaz keep it real.

Cream Up

I am at work right now and I decided to make a blog of things I find and other stuff I think of when I am at work so here some news.

I am getting paid to do this. Not to write this shit, but i am at work, which involves doing minimal filling work and waiting to do minimal filing work. Its awesome. Anyway.....

Minnesota is cool but it is no Bozeman, I miss my fellow kreamers. Logans video was really sick. Way to go kreamer, I expect some great footage comming up. I heard that Nick "Stick It" Weber has basically been laying down some hammers for the new Budda Kreamaz video. Bjorn "the Cowboy" Ryan-Gorman, landed some epic shit on the mini and got it on film. That session last friday was pretty wild. I remember The night sure was interesting. Bjorn punched some guy in the face, bought a bottle of whiskey wich went down alittle too fast, and we walked throug a construction area. That night I also tried to tow nick on his skateboard with my bike. Given that my bike has a really high gear ratio it didnt really work to well, it was "not even worth it." To bad I had to drive home saturday. Footage is pilling up and it sucks that I have no one here to film with and so many great parks and great spots. I might have to make friends here who skate tranny. (limited)

The scene here is way, different than the montana scene. Not quite polar opposites but very close. The whole scene here is about nike and being fresh. The scene in montana is who is the biggest dirt ball. Bjorn is making up his way in the montana scene catching up with mark and elliot really soon. I went in to my local shop here. They had about 20 different styles of nikes and a few varieties of vans and alot of the freshest lakais. The kid working there said they had some wide delux wood when I asked. I was stoaked, the decks he showed me were at the widest 8. He said, "oh thats a really wide one." I then noticed the had a few creature and bacon boards and am going to buy one of them really quick. I was talking to the guy there and he hadnt even heard of Bozeman, he thought it was a big city in colorado. He didnt even know about all the sick tranny in MT. Montana is still a gem. The minneapolis scene is all about street and looking fresh and having the look. Montana is a pretty genuine scene, small, but I like it. Im not saying I dont like the scene in Minneapolis but Montana is where its at. Maybe I would like the scene here better if i had more friends who skated still. If only legend would move here. I could give him change when he is standing around the U. Id like to hear him comlain about where I grew up at, or even better talk about how great it is. HA

I cant think of much more.
