Brooklyn

the brooklyn street skate spot is a local portland DIY effort to revitalize a tiny patch of a lot under a walking bridge, between a working class neighborhood and an industrial area in southeast portland. its pretty awesome to see how fast it has grown. it has recieved city approval after construction began and so it here to stay for at least a few years hopefully, and is the largest aproved DIY spot in the city since burnside. dirty skaters slashing around is so much better then what the space was previously used for, i read in the newspaper that over 30 used needles were pulled out of the ground when they were digging it out. i love to see something like this happen in bozeman, and revitalize a empty spot in the town until it gets built upon by the owners (Big O tires anybody?)

the first incarnation of the spot last year...
